Gwen sat down at her table, as far away from everyone else as she could get in the crowded hall. She was wanted to eat without getting bothered. But then she saw a figure coming towards her and she sighed, her goal a total failure.

Troy held a grin on his rather attractive face as he scoured the Great Hall to find a spot to eat. It seemed that the Gryffindor table had way to many people to fit a big guy like him on the bench, so he looked around for other alternatives. Laughing slightly as he made his was over to a empty end of the Hufflepuff table, and sat down across from the blonde. ”Hey why don’t you turn that frown upside down on your pretty face.”Troy said with a friendly ton as he grabbed a slice of bread from one of the floating racks.

Gwen's eyes slid up and down the boys face as he came up to her. He didn't look like anyone from her house. "Hello," she said politely. Then she reached into her bag and pulled out a book to read as she ate. She stacked her plate with fruit and vegetables and then took a bite into an apple. But she couldn't read - just the idea of someone being there was distracting her. She got her book as close to her face as she could and still be able to read it, hoping that that would block out the feeling of someone watching her.

Jake was reading a book - well, to be more precise, he was reading Shakespeare's Sonnets. He didn't exactly know why - he'd read a couple of plays and had heard the guy was pretty good at sonnets too so figured it was worth a go even if it wasn't really his kind of thing. He wasn't generally a poetry kind of guy but so far, he had to admit, this was pretty good stuff.
He was sitting a few seats down from Gwen and noticed Troy walk over, thinking nothing of it before glancing up, seeing only one apple left in the bowl near them and figured it was probably only good to check if anyone else wanted it before he took it. "Er, sorry, is anyone going to eat that?" He asked them curiously, pointing towards the bowl. "I don't really want to snatch it off you and steal your precious life source for the day or anything..." He grinned.

Gwen shook her head at Jake and went back to her book. It was Pride and Prejudice. She loved Jane Austen and had read this book twice already. She finished her apple and started on a carrot.

Jessi sat a table by herself and sit down sip on her tea and finish her book of twlight and read all about Jacob Black.

Jake was going to thank her and check with Troy before he saw the title of the book and tilted his head, making sure it was the right one. "What do you think of it? The book I mean. I don't really get why girls love Darcy so much, but maybe that's just me...he seemed a bit of a git, really."

Belyaris walked into the great hall and looked around at all the faces that were there in the sea of people. She looked at the table where most from her house were, she knew that it should be were she should be, but still she didn't pick that face out. Her gaze fell upon the boy in which she worked with. She knew that he was nice and she could act normal. She made her way over to him and looked at the others there were sitting there and smiled as she looked at them. "I know this is a little weird, but would you mind if I sit here?" She asked, she stood in her spot as she hoped that someone would say yes and she wouldn't look like a loser. She bite down on her lip as she looked at the faces that were at the table. She wanted to branch out so her last year at this school would be a little different and she could be seen as the girl that was different and not in the corner writing her a little notebook.
She stood there for a moment and than after what seemed forever she pushed a bit of her hair that was in her face away and took a deep breath. "Well thats okay I can find somewhere else," she turned and started to walk away as she had no idea if it was simply because she was a slttherin or if it was because she was the weird girl. Still she knew that she was not going to look stupid.

Jake grinned brightly at Gwen, pondering this for a second and was about reply before Belyaris came over. She seemed pretty keen to run away, however, and he immediately called after her. "Hey, wait, hold on, you can sit down if you want." He offered. "Sorry, you sort of caught us in the middle of wondering if that guy Mr Darcy was the thing that girls loved or was it the whole falling in love thing..." He said, speaking to them both now. "Because I know some girls who I'm pretty sure would jump the guy if he could ever somehow step out of the book...but finding love when you least expect it is pretty cool, I can see why that kind of gets people into it."

M r. Darcy; she knew what they were talking about the book that the great Jane Austen had wrote. Belyaris looked at the others that were around the table as she sat down and looked at the Jake. “Well I do like Mr. Darcy but my favorite character that I fancy in the book would have to be Mr. Bingley he just seems so much sweeter,” Belyaris commented as she looked around the table. She hoped that people understood what she was trying to say. She had no idea if they would but as she looked at the face she remembered to introduce herself. “I’m Belyaris Hertford,” she told the table with a smile.
She sat there in her gray deep v neck shirt, jeans, green scarf, placed her tote bag on the ground and hoped that the bow that was in her hair was nice. She had no idea what she was thinking when she got up this morning but she did have her prefect badge on. She looked at the others with a soft gaze as she tried to imprint them all to her memory. She wanted to be able to know these faces if she had to in the future. Crossing her legs, as she pulled herself closer to the table so she wouldn’t have to strain to hear what was going on. She tried not to stare at anyone because she knew it would be a little strange to do so.

"And yeah, Bingley is pretty cool - I dunno, most girls seem to love the sort of hard to get, bit a prat guy that Mr Darcy sort of is - it's sort of nice to see someone liking something a bit different - it gives me hope the whole world isn't mental." He joked and glanced around at the group again to make sure no-one would object took the final apple in the centre of the table before taking a large crunchy bite out of it. Out of habit, he glanced around curiously, keeping an eye out of for Cassie - apples always reminded him of her, he wondered if she'd be around soon...

Jake looked between them, unable to hide a grin. He took another bite of his apple, tearing into it noisily before speaking again. "Although girls kind of dig that in guys, don't they? The whole bit of a mysterious, dangerous edge, bit of a git, a bit dark and sultry I guess...I mean, that always went over my head, you'd think nice guys would be doing well but sometimes it just seems the complete opposite...I mean, Deborah Martin, she's a pretty nice girl, pretty quiet - and then she's actually with that guy Ricky someone, the Gryffindor who's a bit of a player - apparently him being a bit of a bad boy works for her..." The news of his housemate, someone he didn't know much but had heard about through the Hogwarts Rumour Mill, had prompted some random debates with his friends - none of the guys could quite grasp it and the girls mostly swooned. Weird.
